SACUBO, in affiliation with CBMI, is pleased to offer non-CFO senior staff in the finance/business division of colleges and universities a unique professional development opportunity. Attendees of the first Next Generation Chief Business Officer’s Institute will learn valuable skills and shape future program offerings. The program is limited to 50 participants. This inaugural program features Larry Goldstein (president, Campus Strategies) and Pat Sanaghan (President, The Sanaghan Group), as well as SACUBO and CBMI faculty. Learning goals include:
  • Developing strategic thinking skills, including getting beyond the day-to-day operational challenges encountered in a higher education institutional setting.
  • Finding comfort with and appropriately dealing with the level of ambiguity existing in today’s complex organizations.
  • Exploring the range of issues confronting senior finance staff in academic settings.
  • Understanding how to deal with complex ethical issues with multifaceted and complementary solutions.
  • Exploring leadership operating styles implications for the strategic challenges confronting institutions.
  • Also included:
    1. Relevant concurrent sessions presented by experienced SACUBO faculty.
    2. Conversation with a President
    3. Opportunities for networking with fellow attendees, and with CBMI faculty and participants.

Earn 18 CPE credits. 

Participation is limited to the first 50 pre-approved and accepted applications. To qualify, you must:

  1. Hold a Bachelors degree; and,
  2. Currently hold a CBO-track position; or, have a letter of recommendation from your institution’s upper administration indicating that you have the knowledge, skills and abilities to contribute to the program, and to benefit from the mission of the Next Generation Business Officer program.

If applicable, letters of recommendation may be submitted with your registration. Registration will open the week of May 27th.
