| Qualifications: | Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting (or related area), with a minimum of
five years of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have a Master of Accountancy and/or CPA or Masters in
Business Administration.
The incumbent should have extensive knowledge of higher education institutions financial regulations and guidelines and a complete understanding of all federal and state laws pertaining to financial records and guidelines. S/he will have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. |
| Position Description: | Georgia College & State University invites applications and nominations for
the position of Comptroller/Chief Accounting Officer. Reporting to the Vice President for
Administration and Operations, the Comptroller oversees the university's financial operations,
which include financial accounting and reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable,
cashiering/business services, purchasing, and cash management.
The Comptroller oversees and directs the following offices: Offices of Accounting Services, Business Office, and Materials Management. This position is also responsible for ensuring that financial transactions are processed with proper internal controls and developing and maintaining sound accounting policies, and procedures. |
