Qualifications:
|
- Graduation with a bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred. Major course work in business
or public administration, computer science, political science, statistical analysis, psychology,
sociology, education, or economics generally preferred.
- Three years experience in research and analysis using qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Substantive experience in higher education teaching, research, or policy preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, conduct, or oversee research projects; evaluate
research reports and policy responses; and interpret, write and publish research findings.

Position Description:
|
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THESE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitors and analyzes research and policy relevant to the implementation of Closing the Gaps
and the institute’s workplan.
- Assists in the administration and management of policy research projects.
- Works under the supervision of the institute’s director and deputy director to perform
specialized analytical tasks, including complex tasks that require the interpretation, aggregation,
evaluation, and reporting of a variety of qualitative and statistical data.
- Assists in the formulation of research-based educational policy recommendations that the state
can use to support the goals of Closing the Gaps by 2015 and to improve educational outcomes and
cost efficiency in higher education.
- Prepares, edits, and presents for publication research findings, policy briefs, and technical
papers.
- Takes initiative on projects and completes them successfully without supervision.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships internal and external to the
Coordinating Board to support the institute’s work.
