COVID-19 has strained most sectors of the US economy including higher education, creating a difficult and volatile financing environment. This session will cover how colleges and universities are responding, specifically with respect to raising capital in the public, private and bank markets – both now as well as positioning balance sheets for the future.

Vincent Clarke, Executive Director, Public Finance, Higher Education, J.P. Morgan
Vincent Clark has a decade of experience working with colleges and universities nationally. His work ranges across the wide spectrum of capital market activity, including tax-exempt and taxable public bond transactions, variable rate demand bonds, commercial paper, interest rate derivatives, public private partnerships, rating agency strategy and debt portfolio policy. He actively partners with a variety of higher education institutions across the country, including public and private universities both large and small. Mr. Clarke is a CFA charter holder and received his B.B.A. from Loyola College in Maryland.

Adam Rudner, South Regional Manager - Higher Education, NFP Healthcare & Nonprofit Industries, J.P. Morgan
Adam Rudner joined the Higher Education, Healthcare, and Nonprofit Commercial Banking Team from J.P. Morgan’s Nonprofit Healthcare Investment Banking Group in the summer of 2019. Prior to working as a senior banker in J.P. Morgan’s NFP Healthcare Investment Banking Group, Rudner worked for nearly 16 years at Citigroup focusing on structuring variable rate debt vehicles in the capital structure of public finance clients before transitioning to exclusively NFP healthcare client coverage. Rudner has worked on the management and development of all aspects of the capital structures of NFP health systems, and, in this capacity, he has significant experience in bond structuring, credit work, and rating agency preparation as well as the drafting of MTIs which balance client expectations with investor demand. In addition to capital markets endeavors, Rudner has notable experience in advising on buy and sell side strategic assignments as well as joint venture arrangements. He holds a BS/BA in Biology and History from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Texas – Austin, McCombs School of Business.
