Call for Proposals for the 2022 Annual Meeting


The SACUBO Professional Development Committee invites you to submit a proposal for the SACUBO Annual Meeting to be held May 8 – 10, 2022.


Presenting at the meeting offers an opportunity to share effective strategies and showcase solutions to manage many of the challenges facing higher education today.

The meeting typically brings together more than 600 college and university business officers, including CFO's, Vice Presidents of Finance & Administration, AVP's of Finance, Controllers, Comptrollers, Accountants, Budget Directors, AVP's of Facilities, Auxiliary Directors and others.

Submissions with in-depth and practical treatments of topics relevant to higher education are welcome, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • New policies – telework, online education, etc.
  • Diversifying revenue streams through business and community partnerships
  • Employment law – changes in HR issues
  • Becoming a paperless workplace
  • Engaging and managing a remote workforce
  • Post pandemic capital and master plans
  • Shared services
  • Economic forecast related to higher education
  • Executive recruiting and start-up funding
  • Best practices to reduce student debt burdens – financial literacy
  • Evaluating suppliers/vendors from a DEI perspective
  • International operations – how to ensure compliance, safety, and effectiveness
  • Other hot topics in Higher Ed

Guidelines for Submission

  • Sessions are 50 minutes in length.
  • Accepted proposals will not be assigned a specific date and time until several weeks prior to the meeting. Presenters should be available to speak on any day of the meeting.
  • Proposals should include at least one presenter from a SACUBO member institution.
  • Speakers will be asked to complete a speaker agreement.
  • The proposal should be a brief one-paragraph summary of the presentation that will be used for the meeting program and should include two to three learning objectives.

  • The deadline for submission is December 15, 2021. Topic selection will be completed by January 31, 2022, with formal notifications to follow.
