Call for Proposals for the 2022 Best Practices


College and university business officers wishing to compete in the 2022 "Best Practices" Award Program may submit a proposal by November 10, 2021.

Best Practices Award Program

The Best Practices Award Program showcases the best of college and university business officers' efforts in creating better, more efficient, and customer friendly business practices. Past submissions have showcased a wide variety of unique programs improving the operations of the college campus.

The 2022 competition will select up to five finalists to display their "best practice" at the SACUBO Annual Meeting May 8–10, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. The institution with the overall "best practice" will receive an honorarium of $1,500. Runners-up will receive $750.

The following institutions were the four 2021 finalists:

  1. Furman University – Farm to Fork at Furman University: The Key Ingredients for a Successful Local Food Program (Grand Finalist)
  2. University of Georgia – Electric Busses
  3. Texas A&M University – Oversight – Transactional Risk Analysis Software
  4. Wofford College – Developing Financial Literacy Through the College Finance Workshop

Guidelines for Final Submission

To be considered for the 2022 Best Practices Award, each finalist must submit a proposal providing detail of his or her best practice.

Each proposal must be submitted via email using the Best Practices Proposal form to SACUBO at

The primary contact for the proposal must be a SACUBO member institution of higher education. Up to three additional contacts can be submitted with the proposal.
